Don your walking shoes or boots and take a stroll to the Golden Key at Snape. Ditch your waterproof clothing and be glad to remove your soaking garments and get in front of one of The Golden Key’s roaring fires.
At the Golden Key there is a choice of 3 Adnams cask ales and several bottled beers as well as really good wine list (over 40 to choose from), fourteen of which you can order by the glass, a must for me at lunchtime. The menu is based on local produce and is excellent!
Nick Attfield, took over the The Golden Key in 2006 and since then has improved it and its food considerably, winning the 2009 Good Pub Guide’s Suffolk Newcomer of the Year Award.
Lunch eaten and a quick look at the pub shop, they sell wool products including lovely looking blankets, hats and sheep skins.
Dogs are welcome, as are groups of walkers.
The Golden Key also offers cosy ensuite accommodation. Please see the website for more details.
